Deuteronomy 17-20
Deuteronomy 18:21-22 (KJV) 21 And if thou say in thine heart, How shall we know the word which the LORD hath not spoken? 22 When a prophet speaketh in the name of the LORD, if the thing follow not, nor come to pass, that is the thing which the LORD hath not spoken, but the prophet hath spoken it presumptuously: thou shalt not be afraid of him. Many today call themselves prophets, and they predict many things which do not come true. Do not be deceived by these charismatic preachers and teachers. They are presumptuous, which means they are speaking in pride. If you want to know that what is being said is truly in the name of the Lord, go to the Word of God.
