Walk Well

Jeremiah 7:23-24 (KJV) 23 But this thing commanded I them, saying, Obey my voice, and I will be your God, and ye shall be my people: and walk ye in all the ways that I have commanded you, that it may be well unto you. 24 But they hearkened not, nor inclined their ear, but walked in the counsels and in the imagination of their evil heart, and went backward, and not forward. Verse 23 answers the question of why does God have rules, procedures, principles for us to live by if they do nothing to help us go to heaven. The answer is so very simple, “That it may be well unto you.” So many fight against God’s Word and direction, they incline not their ear, they walk not in the counsels of the Lord. They walk after their evil heart and it is not well for them. If we simply walk well, it will be well. God gives us these things for us to have a good and peaceable life, so why would anyone reject the Word of the Lord?
