Jeremiah 26-29

These chapters give a clear picture of the prophet of God Jeremiah and the false prophets. The thing that is hard to accept is that God’s prophet prophesied that Judah should serve Babylon willingly and the false prophets all prophesied that God would deliver Judah from Babylonian captivity and oppression. God gives us today a measuring stick to determine is someone is preaching truth or preaching to tickle the ears, to please the people. Jeremiah 28:9 (KJV) 9 The prophet which prophesieth of peace, when the word of the prophet shall come to pass, then shall the prophet be known, that the LORD hath truly sent him. God let it be known that these prophets that are prophesying peace are soon to be revealed whether they are of God or not. The answer was that peace would not and did not come so they were false prophets. So many today claim to be prophets, great spiritual leaders who are spoken to and directed by the Holy Ghost of God, yet so often what they say does not come to be. Preach and teach the Word of God and you will be a true prophet of God, for God’s Word is always true, it never fails. Trust the Word and follow the one who preaches the Word if no one likes it. Jeremiah is our great example when he said, “Jeremiah 26:14-15 (KJV) 14 As for me, behold, I am in your hand: do with me as seemeth good and meet unto you. 15 But know ye forcertain, that if ye put me to death, ye shall surely bring innocent blood upon yourselves, and upon this city, and upon the inhabitants thereof: for of a truth the LORD hath sent me unto you to speak all these words in your ears.”
Love you all
